'Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.'

I spoke at my grandmother's funeral about all of the lessons she had taught me. One of the things she taught me was that while things may not be well with my circumstances, they can be well with my soul. At the time I spoke at her funeral, I knew this was possible, because I saw her live it out. Now, I am starting to see how she mastered this. She was always thankful. Thankful for her family. For all her many blessings. It's gratitude that makes joy amidst the hard stuff possible. As I read and receive godly counsel and wisdom during a rough season, the concept of practicing gratitude continues to surface at every corner. I'm learning that practicing gratitude must be intentional. It is forcing me to pause, stop, and look around for all the little daily blessings.
So today, I started a gratitude journal. I went to Michaels to ensure I would have the prettiest gratitude journal known to man! I'm thankful for pretty.
